Bird Proofing

Bird problems can be a sensitive subject. Few people like the idea of bird removal and indeed - this tends to be a last resort solution. Although to control bird problems - bird removal is sometimes necessary - Bird proofing (bird netting, industrial door brushes) is a much more common and popular option. The most common problem birds in Auckland are pigeons, starlings, Myna birds and sparrows. These birds can roost in buildings and deface property with droppings. This damage can be both to the building and to stock or product if it passes under the perching or nesting sites of the birds at any time. The droppings can spread disease such as salmonella and also harbour fungus that can make humans sick. This is especially relevant in premises that handle food.

We offer a range of solutions for bird proofing including: Bird spiking, bird netting, wires, bird brush (or industrial door brush) and visual deterrents. Bird removal is an option with the excetion of homing pigeon removal. There are other products available on the market but the above mentioned tend to be some of the most effective of products available. We also offer a sanitisation service if needed. This can be especially handy for those hard to reach nests birds have set up (work requiring cherry pickers / scissor lifts etc). In circumstances where proofing is not an option Bird control methods may be needed.
